Here is how Salma describes her experience . . .
I remember when I moved to North America with three young children and living with my in-laws for the first time. It was a very challenging time.
Everyone around me seemed to have it all together . . .
I remember sharing how scared I was of messing up with a group of women and instead of being validated, I felt judged and looked down upon. This reconfirmed by fears . . . I was the worst person, daughter in law and mother ever!
Plus I had a sneaking suspicion that my marriage was “on the rocks”. My husband and I were definitely NOT on the same page when it came to parenting (or dealing with his family).
Of course, I loved my children and (sometimes) my husband. So why could not I remain calm when they did not listen, when they did not do what they were supposed to? Why did I feel defeated when my husband and I did not appear to be on the same page about important parenting decisions? Why did small things trigger me, and then I react and feel bad about myself?
I felt SO alone. Nobody around me seemed to understand. I was often ashamed of my behaviour with my children.
Here’s the thing though. When I felt bad about myself, I was an even worse person and mother!
Thankfully things started getting better when I started working with you. You helped me focus on things that were within my control.
It has been a journey for sure but I find that I am emotionally and mentally stronger today than I have been for many years. And it started with taking charge of my own internal affairs rather than waiting for things and people to change around me.

Marzia Hassan (LLB, MSW, RSW) is an author, public speaker and marriage and family therapist working with individuals, couples and families. She started her working career as a corporate lawyer in a large prestigious Bay Street law firm. After starting her own family, she realized that her true passion lay in empowering and strengthening families to create intentional and healthy relationships. After a decade of self and professional study, Marzia now works as a social worker and relationship consultant with individuals, couples and families.

After many years of living "life", looking after the family, going out to earn a living to help pay the bills, cooking, cleaning, entertaining, care giving .... I felt... spent. Physically, mentally and emotionally spent. Then, I realized that I didn't remember who I really was -- and worse yet, who I had become. It's a funny place to be in life -- not here and not there... nowhere, actually. It's at this moment, that I felt a yearing to go home, to find myself... to look for the little girl inside me who had been burried deep under the layers of life. I just wanted to throw off all the layers and find her, pull her out, look at her and hold her close to me once again so I could feel whole. It was that sense of wanting to return to myself and chosing to be authentic to who I really was, that made me start searching ... because i was lost. I was lost and didn't know where to begin. Then the "MEM Program" came up and I thought, "Oh my gosh, this is it!". I signed up. And I'm very happy that I did. The MEM program helped me to gently introspect and dig. Sometimes I had to dig deep and it was hard, but it had to be done. I was on a mission. The program was very comprehensive and covered a variety of things, but most importantly, it gave me tools, lots and lots of tools to help myself, where-ever I was in my life.
This course helps you define how you want to show up in life, and what you need to do in order to be true to your values. The content is excellent, relevant and supported by science and experts. When it comes to learn something , I would be the one who would join even if it’s resonating for 1% with me. And self growth and improvement is my passion to work on till my last breath. When I came to know about MEM, through email I decided to join this course. However I was double minded since it was extremely busy time for me and I was not sure if it was a good time for me to start , yet I gave a try and joined. And Now I feel that I did the best thing to take this step. This course is amazing, full of knowledge and instant tips to use right away when you need it. The topics covered in this course are so practical and of day to day use that no one can miss them using. I was loaded with amazing information from the live session videos and practical exercises.I also discovered many aspects regarding Values and self awareness.
